A comeback Daniil Medvedev claimed his initial championship for nearly 30 months with a win over Corentin Moutet in the competition title decider.

The athlete, a former number one, has had a challenging period, winning just one win at the big events and experiencing a meltdown at the New York tournament.

Medvedev's unpredictability on the ATP Tour - and struggles with his service game in especial - caused him falling of the top ten and eventually separating with former coach his previous coach.

Presently working with Johansson and his other coach, he has gradually improved in the last few weeks - culminating in a hard-fought three-set triumph over opponent Corentin Moutet.

This marks the player's maiden championship following the 2023 Rome Masters and first on a hard surface since March of 2023.

Success also means the Russian has secured twenty-one titles at twenty-one distinct tournaments.

"It's the first time I am participating in a competition with my both daughters at once, so to win a title is particularly special," stated tennis professional Medvedev.

"This victory is in dedication of my child her name, because the maiden victory I won when my child my daughter was born was for her."

The athlete, the past champion, had been defeated in his past six finals, comprising in Halle earlier this year.

The player's defensive approach and recurring reactions on the playing surface had caused commentators to question if his capacity to perform at the top level was concluded.

Yet the athlete has altered his approach in the last few weeks, striving to approach the net and perform assertively, reinforced by an better serve.

The champion came back from a disadvantage in the initial set against the difficult opponent, securing four of the last five games to gain the advantage.

Both players traded breaks in the middle set before the challenger, attempting for his first ATP Tour championship, gained dominance to push for a decider.

Moutet defended four early-game chances in a tight final set before the Russian secured a break to fifteen to close out the victory.

Fittingly, Medvedev earned the win with a point at the net, with his opponent unable to manage a shot after two hours and 38 minutes.
